CoreNet Global Australia is launching the Future Focus series—a transformative initiative designed to address the evolving challenges of the Corporate Real Estate (CRE) industry.
Our Vision
We envision a future where CRE contributes to a connected, resilient, healthy, and sustainable environment for our places, planet, and people. In the coming decades, the CRE sector must lead these changes while enhancing the tenant experience.
Objectives
The primary objective of this study is to explore in depth three pivotal issues that impact how the CRE industry in Australia responds to identified challenges ahead. It aims to understand what are the roadblocks and how the industry as a collective can create a positive way forward.
Future fit CRE professionals
The future roles of CRE professionals will be multifaceted as move towards 2050. It will require a collection of CRE leaders with skills beyond property management, instead with integrated understandings of entire businesses, communities and cities. Training will become more comprehensive moving beyond traditional property expertise to more multidisciplinary skills.
Adaptive resilient systems
The future viability of corporate real estate (CRE) lies in adaptive, resilient systems. CRE will be defined by flexibility—from leasing agreements to workspace design and usage—and driven by data and AI-powered solutions that enhance security and optimise operations. There is a need to reshape how buildings are constructed, operated, and adapted, from flexible furniture to adaptable building models is pivotal.
Collaborative approach
It is well recognised the challenges facing organisations, communities and the planet are growing in scale and complexity requiring a highly integrated and multi-disciplinary approach. However, the CRE profession continues to take a siloed and linear approach limiting the ability to leverage skills, expertise and resources across the industry.
